One in custody, one at large in Dec. 14 assault, robbery and kidnapping of Gardnerville man
An investigation into the Dec. 14 robbery, beating and kidnapping of a Gardnerville man at his home has resulted with one woman in custody and her alleged partner in the crime a fugitive from justice who is considered armed and dangerous, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
Stacy Conti-Salway, 35, was arrested Thursday and booked into Douglas County Jail on charges of first degree kidnapping, armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, false imprisonment, coercion, and fraudulent use of a credit card, said Undersheriff Paul Howell. Her bail has been set at $282,520.
Francisco “Frankie” Perez, 28, is a fugitive and a warrant has been issued for his arrest for the same charges as Conti-Salway. Perez has a lengthy criminal record and is believed to be armed with a firearm. He is considered armed and dangerous, said Howell. Perez is believed to be in the Gardnerville or Yerington areas.
On Wednesday, Dec. 14, Douglas County sheriff’s deputies responded to the call of a kidnapping and armed robbery that reportedly occurred in the 1500 block of Gilman Avenue in Gardnerville. An adult male victim reported he had been kidnapped and robbed and showed deputies the location of the crime.
A subsequent investigation found that the male adult victim had been violently attacked in a home on Gilman Avenue by Conti-Salway and Perez. The suspects beat the victim and held him at gunpoint and during the ordeal drove the victim to his bank and forced him to remove an undisclosed sum of cash. At some point following the robbery they released the victim, said Howell.
On Thursday afternoon, DCSO Investigators located Conti-Salway and arrested her in the parking lot of the Greater Nevada Credit Union. Conti-Salway was booked into the Douglas County Jail on the charges.
Perez is a fugitive and a warrant has been issued for his arrest for the same charges as Conti-Salway. If you see him, call 911.
