Looking for love this holiday season? Hundreds of dogs and cats are waiting for you at local animal shelters and rescue groups in Nevada, where pet adoptions will be free Nov. 16 and 17 during Maddie's Pet Adoption Days. All adoption fees are waived for pets going to loving new homes thanks to a grant from Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation, a private charitable foundation based in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

Happening only in Nevada, Maddie's Pet Adoption Days has a goal of emptying shelters this holiday season, the time of year when more people than ever bring home a pet.

Maddie's Pet Adoption Days is part of a statewide campaign, Maddie's Pet Project in Nevada, that aims to elevate the status and well-being of cats and dogs across the state through partnerships that increase adoptions from animal shelters and improve access to veterinary care in underserved areas.

Dave and Cheryl Duffield Foundation is a private charitable foundation based in Lake Tahoe, Nev. The Duffields are long-time benefactors of companion animal causes, education initiatives and veteran services, and are the founders of Maddie’s Fund, a leading animal welfare foundation dedicated to revolutionizing the status and well-being of companion animals. They thoughtfully honor the spirit of their dog Maddie in their philanthropy pursuits to thank her for her love and companionship.

Maddie’s Pet Project aims to increase live release rates for dogs and cats in Nevada shelters and rescues and support access to care in underserved communities in Nevada. This initiative is made possible thanks to Maddie’s Fund and the Dave and Cheryl Duffield Foundation.
