Vehicle accident involving child at Sonoma at Silver Sage
UPDATE: A young girl suffered minor injuries tonight after she was struck by a vehicle while trick or treating, according to a Carson City sheriff's sergeant.
The girl was apparently crossing a street and wasn't in a crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle that was driving slowly and may have had its brights on, said Sgt. Scott McDaniel.
The girl is OK, suffering minor cuts and bruises to her knees and arms. The accident, McDaniel notes, was low impact at low speed.
"We're seeing a lot of children out tonight trying to get their trick or treating in before the storm," said McDaniel. "As important as it is for motorists to be aware of children in the streets, it is also important for children to be aware of motorists."
