Permits available for open burning in Carson City
The Carson City Fire Department will allow open burning, with a valid permit, now through Nov. 14.
The purpose of the open burn period is to provide residents an opportunity to dispose of accumulated weeds and yard debris, according to Carson City fire officials.
For safety reasons, a burn permit with a valid permit number will be required before burning will be allowed. Permit applications can be obtained at the following Carson CIty fire station locations:
— Station 1 headquarters at 777 S. Stewart St., Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
— Station 2 at 2400 College Parkway and Station 3 at 4649 Snyder Ave., 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (When personnel are present – subject to emergency response.)
Permit applications become valid after obtaining a permit number at least one day prior to burn and will be issued on a walk-in basis at all three Carson City Fire Department stations during listed operating hours, or you can call (775) 887-2210, ext 7145, 8-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
