Carson City Sheriff’s Office arrests: Woman jailed on suspicion of third domestic battery

A 33-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday on felony suspicion of third offense domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Estelle Ramona Wungnema was taken into custody at 1:05 p.m. According to the arrest report, the woman allegedly hit and pulled the hair of a female victim. The suspect had convictions of domestic battery in 2011 and 2014. Bail: $15,137.

— A 65-year-old Gardnerville man, Jimmie Lee Reimann, was arrested Friday, 9:10 p.m. in the 1600 block of Medical Parkway on suspicion of felony parole and probation violation. He refused to submit to drug tests as part of his probation. At jail he admitted to using methamphetamine. He was placed on a no bail hold in lieu of a hearing.

— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 1:43 a.m. in the area of 8th and Fall Street on a gross misdemeanor suspicion of possession of a dangerous weapon, and misdemeanor obstructing an officer and biking on the wrong side of the road.

According to the arrest report, the man was stopped by a sheriff’s deputy for riding on the wrong side of the road and for not having front or real lights as required for bike riding during night hours.

The rider was asked multiple times to stop and the man did not stop. He repeatedly kept saying to the officer following him: “why are you stopping me?” and “I did nothing wrong,” the arrest report states. After continually instructing him multiple times, the man finally complied and stopped in the area of 8th and Fall streets. Located in the man’s backpack was a pair of brass knuckles. Bail: $2,999.

— A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 5:20 a.m. in the area of South Edmonds and Lompa Lane on misdemeanor DUI, wanton reckless driving, 120 mph in a 65, and violation of bail conditions.

According to the arrest report a deputy was patrolling the area of I-580 and the Fifth Street bridge when he observed a Subaru pass him at a high rate of speed. Radar confirmed the vehicle speed at 124 mph in a posted 65 mph.

The officer drove southbound to overtake the vehicle and made a traffic stop on South Edmonds and Lompa. He met with the driver and noticed an odor of alcohol on his breath. He was asked to submit to field sobriety tests in which the driver failed all tests, according to the arrest report. He was arrested on the charges and submitted an evidentiary blood draw at jail. Bail: $2,274.

— A 34-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday, 12:37 p.m. in the area of West Fifth and South Curry Street for gross misdemeanor suspicion of child endangerment, and the following misdemeanors: DUI drugs, failure to maintain a lane, suspended registration and no proof of insurance.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the area for a report of a vehicle that struck a tree. Witnesses provided information about the vehicle and the officer located it going eastbound on west Fifth Street approaching Curry. The officer observed damage on the front and right corner of the vehicle. The officer spoke with the woman and observed her speech was quick and she appeared to be confused. The officer observed a small female child seating in the right rear seat.

The officer asked what happened and she said she hit the tree to avoid a truck that had been tailgating her. The woman appeared confused and the officer asked for her license. The officer asked if she had consumed any alcohol or drugs. She said she had not been drinking and said she had taken anxiety prescription medication earlier. The officer asked for her vehicle insurance and registration. She said she did not have current vehicle insurance.

As the deputy was speaking with the woman, a male arrived at the scene and said he observed the woman hitting a pickup about 20 minutes earlier. The officer asked the woman to perform field sobriety tests and she agreed and did not satisfactorily complete the tests. Dispatched advised the woman had a suspended registration. She was arrested. Bail: $4,738.

— A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 3:52 p.m. in the area of North Stewart and east Robinson Street on misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery second offense and misdemeanor suspicion of violation of a suspended sentence. According to the arrest report, the suspect allegedly assaulted his estranged girlfriend in the restroom at a grocery store. The suspect admitted to drinking, a violation of his probation. Bail: $6,000.

— A 31-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 3:52 p.m. in the area of Robinson and Stewart streets on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Sept. 16, 2015 out of East Fork Township. Bail: $750.

— A 47-year-old Dayton man was arrested Friday, 5:02 p.m. in the 1700 block of North Carson Street on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued June 14, 2016 out of East Fork Township Court. Bail: $500.

— A 52-year-old transient was arrested Friday, 5:41 p.m. in the 1200 block of East Roland Street on a temporary restraining order violation, a Carson City Sheriff’s deputy reported. Per the arrest report, deputies responded to a call from the suspect’s father who reported his son was on scene and in violation of an existing TPO, which was confirmed by dispatch.
The father reported he received a call from his son, felt sorry for him, and went to pick him up and brought him back to the house. The suspect became angry about the TPO and his father called 911.
Deputies arrested the suspect at the father’s residence and transported him to the Carson City Jail where he was booked on $1,000 bail.

— A 61-year-old Stagecoach woman was arrested Friday on misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession offenses.
The woman was arrested at 5:38 p.m. in the 3200 block of Retail Drive during a traffic stop on a crosswalk violation, the report said. During the stop, the deputy observed the woman exhibiting behaviors suspicious of DUI, and she demonstrated signs of impairment on several tests.

The deputy’s K-9 officer was employed to sniff for substances, and the woman admitted to having marijuana in the cab of her vehicle. In addition to marijuana, law enforcement also recovered a pipe with burnt residue. The woman was taken into custody and booked into the Carson City Jail on $1,000 bail.

— A 45-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 7:39 p.m. in the 2000 block of William Street on three misdemeanor failure to appear traffic warrants. Bail: $2,995.

— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 7:55 p.m. in the 2000 block of East William Street on misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs and possession of marijuana offenses. According to the arrest report, the deputy and his K-9 partner arrived at a traffic stop to assist another officer who had pulled over a vehicle on a traffic stop.

The K9 officer searched the vehicle and discovered a bud of marijuana located in the center console of the vehicle. A field sobriety test was administered to the driver, who showed sign of impairment. The driver was then placed into custody and transported to the Carson City Jail where he was booked on $1,000 bail.

— A 25-year-old Reno man was booked into jail Friday, 9 p.m. on a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued March 11, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $740.

— A 60-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday night, 11:24 p.m. in the area of I-580 northbound and the 500 block of Arrowhead Drive on a driving under the influence of alcohol offense. The arrest report states the driver of a silver car pulled in front of a deputy’s patrol vehicle, causing the officer to brake suddenly to avoid striking the car.

The deputy turned his patrol vehicle around to follow the car. The officer caught up with the car in the northbound lanes of I-580 and Highway 50, at which time he observed the car being unable to maintain its lane.

A traffic stop was made and signs of DUI impairment were observed. A field sobriety test was also positive for impairment. The preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol content of .113 percent. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Carson City Jail on $1,000 bail.
