Carson City Fire Department called to vehicle fire, stop flames from moving into residence
Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Tuesday night to a vehicle fire that may have extended into a structure in the 600 block of East Proctor Street near Anderson.
The call came into dispatch at around 7:30 p.m. as a vehicle fire with flames. The occupant of the residence advised they heard an explosion, saw the vehicle engulfed in flames and fire moving from the vehicle to the structure, according to dispatch.
Arriving firefighters were able to quickly douse the flames and the fire was declared out at 7:42 p.m. Firefighters were on scene checking for structural damage. At 8:17 p.m. a CCFD battalion chief reported the fire did not enter into the interior of the structure.
The cause is under investigation.
