Fourth annual IHOP Remembrance Run and Walk set for Sunday
Everyone is welcome to join Nevada National Guard Soldiers and Airmen this Sunday, Sept. 6, for the 4th annual Remembrance Run as the Nevada Guard commemorates the lives of the four victims of the Sept. 6, 2011, International House of Pancakes shooting incident in Carson City.
The free, informal, untimed five-kilometer run/walk is set to start in the parking lot at the Carson City IHOP, 3883 S. Carson St., at 7 a.m. and finish at the Nevada Guard's Office of the Adjutant General complex at 2460
Fairview Dr. Reflective running/walking gear is recommended and participants should follow the marked course.
On Sept. 6, 2011, Nevada Guardsmen Lt. Col. Heath Kelly, 35, Master Sgt. Christian Riege, 38, Sgt. 1st Class Miranda McElhiney, 31, and South Tahoe resident Florence Donovan-Gunderson, 67, were killed during the incident.
