Child struck by vehicle on Pheasant Drive in Carson City flown to hospital via Care Flight
UPDATE 8:40PM: Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong confirmed that the driver involved in Thursday evening's accident involving a child on Pheasant Drive appears to be accidental and no charges will be filed at this time.
The driver "was driving along the roadway when the child walked in the way of the vehicle," said Sheriff Furlong.
The child, age unavailable, was taken by Care Flight to Renown Medical Center in Reno. The child was said to have suffered injuries to the face and was bleeding from the mouth at the time they were treated at the scene of the accident. Sheriff Furlong did not know the condition of the child as of this report.
With head trauma being the main concern, Care Flight is routinely called with accidents involving children, pedestrians or in motorcycle accidents.

A small child was hit by a vehicle at around 7:20 p.m. on Pheasant Drive in Carson City early Thursday evening. A Care Flight helicopter was ordered.
The child, said to have suffered injuries to the face and bleeding from the mouth, was taken from the accident scene to Carson City Airport where the Care Flight helicopter landed and transported the child to Renown Medical Center in Reno, according to Carson City dispatchers via the Carson City Fire Department.
Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies are on the scene and investigating.
