Carson City and Lake Tahoe area road report for week of June 27 to July 3

Here is this week’s Carson City area road report for the week of June 27 to July 3, 2016: Work will continue on the Downtown Corridor improvement project on Carson Street. The following streets will be impacted:

— On Wednesday, Carson Street will be closed between William and Washington from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
— When not closed, Carson Street will remain one lane in each direction.
— Sophia, Ann and Caroline streets will be closed on the east side to Plaza.
— Robinson will be closed both east and west for one block on Monday and Tuesday.
— Spear, Proctor and Telegraph will be closed on the west side to Curry.
Downtown and Third Street businesses are open during construction.

Elsewhere around Carson City, lane closures with flagger controlled traffic at the following locations due to utility/road work from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.:

— Center Drive south of Clear Creek Avenue near Topsy Lane, Monday through Friday
— Court Side Circle, Rapids Court, Clover Court, Shadow Brook Court, and Desert Peach Drive, Monday through Thursday
— N. Ormsby Boulevard between Winnie Lane and College Parkway, Monday through Friday
— Intersection of S. Nevada Street and W. Second Street, Monday through Wednesday

Road closures expected at the following locations due to utility/road work. Please follow detours:
— Topsy Lane between Center Drive and U.S. 395, Monday through Sunday, for all hours, local traffic only
— Race Track Road and Bigelow Drive south of Snyder Avenue, Monday through Sunday, for all hours, local traffic only
— Jeanell Drive between Winnie Lane and Michael Drive, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
— Anderson Street between Robinson and Caroline Streets Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
— E. Fifth Street loop around the Korean War Memorial, Monday through Sunday, for all hours
— Chaise Court south of Chaparral Drive, Friday, for all hours, local traffic only

Northbound U.S. 395 between Clear Creek Avenue and Snyder Avenue will be reduced from three to two lanes until July 8, excluding the holiday weekend.

Extended paving sessions, on I-580 in Washoe Valley, are scheduled through the next few weekends and for weekend hours to avoid impacting weekday commute travel.

Caltrans reports the following impacts on Lake Tahoe area and Sierra roads for the week of June 26 through July 2, 2016:

State Route 89 (Placer County): Work continues on a $70.1 million project from Tahoma to just north of Granlibakken Road in Tahoe City that is upgrading storm water drainage and treatment systems, adding curb and gutter, resurfacing and realigning the road, adding new left-turn pockets and widening shoulders on an 8-mile stretch of the highway.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Oroville Street to Sugar Pine Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations around the clock from 10 p.m. Sunday, until 7 p.m. Thursday for curb and gutter work and drainage work. Motorists also can expect one-way traffic control from Sequoia Avenue North to Cathedral Way from 10 p.m. Sunday to 10 a.m. Monday, 7 p.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday for pavement work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $13 million water quality improvement project from Cascade Road to just north of the Eagle Falls Viaduct over Emerald Bay.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from Cascade Road to Eagle Point Campground: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 2 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday for drainage and shoulder work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $25 million project from the "Y" junction with U.S. Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe to Cascade Road, north of Camp Richardson. Curb, gutter and sidewalks will be added in the 1.1-mile four-lane section, and the highway will be widened in the two-lane section to Visitor Center Road to provide 4-foot paved shoulders on each side.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from 12th Street to West Way: Northbound and southbound motorists can expect the No. 2 lane and shoulder closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday for curb, gutter and sidewalk work. Motorists also can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from the Tahoe Visitors Center to Cascade Road from midnight to 6 a.m. Monday and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday for pavement work.

State Route 28 (Placer County): Work continues on Placer County’s $50 million Kings Beach Commercial Core Improvement Project from State Route 267 to Chipmunk Street. Highway work includes installing curb and gutter, sidewalks, roundabouts, lighting and drainage systems to enhance pedestrian and bicycle mobility, improve safety and provide water-quality improvements.

State Route 28 (Placer County) from the junction with State Route 267 to Chipmunk Street: Motorists can expect the #1 lane closed from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday for striping. Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from Beach Avenue to Deer Street from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Friday for utility work. Motorists also can expect the eastbound and westbound shoulders to be closed from Fox Street to Beaver Street from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for utility work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County): The Silva Valley Interchange, a $57 million project by El Dorado County to construct a new overcrossing over U.S. Highway 50 in El Dorado Hills, is now open to traffic, but some highway lane closures may still be required to finish the work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Latrobe Road/El Dorado Hills Boulevard to Bass Lake Road: Eastbound and westbound motorists can the outside lanes closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday for rumble strip installations.

State Route 49 (El Dorado County) from Koki Lane to Pleasant Valley Road West: Motorists can expect long-term one-way traffic control around the clock for emergency utility work to fix a broken sewer line.

State Route 49 (El Dorado County) at Coloma Street in Placerville: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday for curb, gutter and sidewalk work.

State Route 49 (El Dorado County) from Riverwood Drive South to Riverwood Drive North: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for tree work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Cameron Park Road: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect alternating lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Saturday for bridge work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Red Hawk Parkway: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect alternating lane closures 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday for bridge work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Bedford Avenue to Canal Street in Placerville: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday for utility work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Upper Truckee Road North to Kyburz Avenue: Motorists can intermittent full highway closures from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday for survey work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Truckee Drive to River Drive: Eastbound motorists can expect lane closures from 9 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday and 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Friday for gas line utility work. Westbound motorists can expect lane closures from Trout Creek to Tulare Avenue from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Friday for gas line utility work.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Fern Street to Trout Street in Homewood: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for bridge work on the multi-use path extension.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Squaw Creek to Granite Flat Campground: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday for ditch cleaning.

State Route 193 (El Dorado County) at Rock Creek Road: Motorists can expect long-term signalized one-way traffic control for emergency repair work, which is scheduled to be completed in July.
