Carson City parks officials to investigate why street lights went dim Saturday night
If it seemed somewhat dark walking down Carson Street following a Taste of Downtown, that's because it was.
Lisa Lee, executive director of the Advocates to End Domestic Violence and coordinator of Taste of Downtown wanted to know why the rustic-looking street lights along Carson, Curry and Musser streets went dim as festivities wound down on Saturday night.
"It was very dark as people were walking. I got a lot of complaints," she said.
Carson Now spoke this morning with Scott Fahrenbruch, director of operations for the Parks and Recreation Department, who assured us it wasn't intentional and the department will investigate the matter today to see if it was mechanical or a breaker switch.
"We don't know if a breaker slipped but we are investigating today," Fahrenbruch said. "We will take the necessary steps to make sure it gets repaired right away."
He added that up until Saturday, Parks and Recreation hasn't heard of any problems regarding the lights.
