Person of interest in June 1 Carson City armed robbery arrested on felony warrant
A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday on a felony warrant charge and is considered a person of interest in the June 1 armed robbery of a woman who was followed to her home after leaving a casino and threatened with a gun, a Carson City sheriff’s lieutenant said.
Arrested Thursday morning at a Jumbo Way home was Jac Owen. He was taken into custody on the felony warrant charge unrelated to the armed robbery, said Carson City Sheriff's Office Lt. Brian Humphrey. A second person of interest has also been identified and remains at large. Three others inside the home were detained briefly.
In the robbery earlier this month, two men followed the victim from Casino Fandango to her Sonoma Street residence just after 3 a.m.
When the victim’s vehicle pulled into the driveway, one of the two suspects approached the woman, pointed a pistol at her, and demanded money or he would shoot her. The second man took the victim’s purse from the woman’s vehicle. The suspects then fled in a pickup. Scroll photos to see the pickup that was believed to be used during the robbery.
