Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Couple busted for possession of heroin, meth
A man and woman were arrested Friday evening at 7:05 p.m. in the 3800 block of Goni Road after they were found in possession of drugs, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported, including heroin and methamphetamine.
Kyle Thomas Ostergaard, 33, of Carson City and 26 year-old transient Aprile Lyn Knight were taken into custody for felony drug possession after a Sheriff's deputy responded to a gaming business on a report of unwanted subjects with drugs, the arrest report said.
The business manager contacted law enforcement, reporting that a female suspected to be under the influence of drug was refusing to provide identification on the gaming floor. She eventually went outside and loitered next to a white vehicle, the report said.
Law enforcement officers arrived and made contact with the female and two other subjects at the vehicle. One was Ostergaard.
Knight reported to deputies that there was a knife in the vehicle and attempted to reach for it. Officers gave her commands to leave it inside the vehicle and she was instructed to sit on the curb, the report said.
Knight admitted to using methamphetamine the day before. However, both she and Ostergaard appeared to be under the influence of controlled substances while talking with law enforcement.
Knight and Ostergaard were both observed to have sores all over their faces, exhibited rigid muscle tone and hand tremors, spoke very rapidly and made rapid eye movements, the report said.
They were both well known to law enforcement from previous drug-related contacts.
A pat down search of Ostergaard recovered a black tar substance resembling heroin. A K9 officer performed an exterior sniff of the vehicle and was alerted to drug odor coming from the driver's side of the automobile, the report said.
Interior search of the vehicle recovered several hypodermic devices, a meth pipe, several plastic baggies containing trace amounts of meth, as well as meth inside Knight's purse, the report said.
Ostergaard admitted to frequent meth use, the report said.
The pair was then handcuffed and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $2,500 each.
