Douglas County Sheriff's Office investigates body found by hiker near Jack Wright Pass
A hiker discovered a dead body Tuesday evening in the hills near Jack Wright Pass, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
The hiker made the discovery and reported it to the sheriff's office at 5:30 p.m. The person who made the discovery came across the deceased person while hiking in the area off a roadway in southern Douglas County, said DCSO Undersheriff Ron Elges.
The sheriff's office hasn't disclosed if it was a male or female or approximate age.
DCSO Investigations Division, along with DCSO Search and Rescue, were summoned to investigate and recover the body, said Elges.
The DCSO Investigation Division is currently working on positively identifying the person and determining the manner of death, said Elges. There is no threat to the community.
The discovery was made in southern Douglas County.s located in southeast Douglas County near Wellington.
