High near 80 by midweek, potential for thunderstorms beginning Friday
Temperatures will be about 15 degrees above normal Tuesday and Wednesday as a ridge of high pressure strengthens over the West with a slight cool down and a chance of thunderstorms beginning Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.
Carson City, Carson Valley and Dayton can expect high temperatures near 80 Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the weather service.
A slight cool down is expected for the rest of the week, but high temperatures will remain about 10 degrees above average. There are chances for thunderstorms in the Sierra beginning Friday, with coverage possibly increasing and spreading into western Nevada over the weekend into early next week.
