Greater Nevada Credit Union donates $25,000 to replace CHS digital marquee
Carson City School District and Carson High School are pleased to announce the replacement of the digital marquee out front of Carson High School. Greater Nevada Credit Union has donated nearly $25,000 to replace the existing sign.
To commemorate the occasion, Carson High School will host a ribbon cutting event Monday, April 16, 8:30 a.m. in front of the school near the new sign.
GNCU previously donated funds for the initial sign now being replaced. GNCU has maintained an educational branch inside of the school since 1996 and provides “Senator Debit Cards” to students who maintain accounts with the credit union. GNCU also continues to support other school programs including band, athletics, safe grad, culinary arts and much more.
“With the installation of this new digital marquee, Carson High School will be better able to communicate events to students, parents and the community,” CCSD Superintendent Richard Stokes said. “We have greatly appreciated all the support from Greater Nevada Credit Union and look forward to a continued relationship.”
Earlier this year, GNCU presented a check for nearly $2,200 to the Carson High School Band program during the Band-O-Rama concert Thursday, March 15.
“Over the past several years, Greater Nevada Credit Union has partnered with our high school to help support various needs,” Carson High Principal Tasha Fuson said. “GNCU has been a constant and dedicated partner to the school and our local community.”
