Keep Carson City streets clean by securing your load before heading to the landfill
In most cases this is unsightly at best however if larger items fall onto the road it can be a hazard that can lead to a vehicle crash. Add to this our typical afternoon winds and the lighter debris is blown all about the area. It is your responsibility to ensure that your load is properly covered and secured so that it does not end up on the roadway or in the brush.
In response to these complaints, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office will be increasing enforcement of unsecured and uncovered loads along U.S. 50 and adjoining roadways. In addition, the Sheriff’s Office will also begin dirt bike patrols in the canyons and hills around Carson City looking for illegal dumping and other unlawful activity.
By securing and covering your loads and utilizing the city landfill for waste disposal, we can keep our city looking good and maintain our title of “Most Travel Worthy Capital.”
