Washoe investigators push for public's help with information into murder of Reno woman on I-580
Washoe County Sheriff’s Office detectives are putting out a call for anyone who may have information into last month's murder of a Reno woman who was found shot to death inside a burned vehicle on southbound I-580.
Anna Scott, who was 23-years-old, a mother and member of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe, was found in the trunk of a burning car in the early hours of Feb. 3 on I-580 between Reno and Carson City. It was later determined that Scott had died of a gunshot wound. Her death is being investigated as a homicide.
Washoe County Sheriff's Office issued a news release Monday with additional photos of Scott, hoping someone will come forward with information. WSCO said information into the investigation is being released officially by the sheriff's office.
"Detectives’ primary goal is to solve Scott’s homicide, and to bring justice to Scott and her loved ones. As such, Homicide Detectives are seeking information from anyone who may have knowledge of Scott’s movements and interactions in the days preceding Feb. 3," the news release states.
Anyone with information relating to Scott’s murder should contact the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division at (775) 328-3320 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900. Secret Witness is offering a reward in the amount of $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect(s) wanted in connection with Anna Scott’s homicide.
