Carson City nonprofit offering support for victims of sex trafficking and assault host community awareness open house tonight

Event Date:
April 5, 2022 - 5:30pm

Xquisite is inviting our community to our Open House and Awareness event tonight, Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 5:30 pm at our new location at 310 N. Stewart Street, in Carson City. Xquisite is a nonprofit dedicated to bringing freedom and empowerment for sexually exploited women, youth and survivors of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and domestic violence to live healthy, flourishing lives.

Xquisite is a 501(c)3 nonprofit serving our community since 2012. To expand the services already being provided, in 2018, Xquisite and their team of trauma informed case managers established the “Diamond Strong Freedom Center.”

All Xquisite’s services are Free, Confidential, Nonjudgmental, and come with NO strings attached. Xquisite offers a 24-hour emergency hotline, individual personal care plans and life skills training, partnership with a job skills center, while also providing financial literacy training, free counseling services, a licensed social worker, weekly support groups, self-care items, legal advocacy, and court support. Go here to learn more about Exquisite.

Xquisite maintains a team of trauma informed and trained case managers who assist clients to move from a place of exploitation and trauma, by designing their own personalized plan towards freedom and safety.

This process is often a slow progression as it takes time to build trusting relationships, and it affords each client the ability to dictate the pace they are comfortable with in pursuing their steps toward personal freedom.

The Diamond Strong Freedom Center is adding to their current service capabilities by the addition of our Drop-In Center, allowing all clients to be welcomed into a safe, secure facility and inviting atmosphere to begin to heal. Our Drop-In Center is unique and there is nothing like it available within the Northern Nevada rural communities.

Xquisite will provide that first touch point of community and resources to any adult or youth who are experiencing sexual assault, sexual exploitation or domestic violence and want a way out of that confinement in Northern Nevada.

The Drop-In Center will allow all clients a safe, secure, and inviting atmosphere to heal and will also be an asset for our local agencies to come and build relationships as together we seek to give them a more inclusive opportunity to make the best choices in their case management. We believe that everyone has potential and worth that is the passion that drives us. We are very determined to help clients discover those qualities.

A diamond is created by heat and pressure under the earth, it has value. It’s just not visible yet. When a diamond is allowed to be cared for by a jeweler, the brilliance of what was hidden comes to light.

That is how we see every client and will work to help them find their individual brilliance and worth walking alongside them for their freedom, which is why our center is named the Diamond Strong Freedom Center, keeping value and worth at the center of all that we do. So that no one feels alone, as a part of their intake with Xquisite, we will assess what their desired goals for freedom are; help them take manageable steps and assist them as much as they desire, encourage community and trusting relationships in our safe environment; secure resources, and provide referrals to partnerships as needed.

We are very excited to invite you to come and see who we are and join us at Xquisite’s Open House at our newly located Diamond Strong Freedom Center. Come see our passion and learn how you can become involved. We believe that we are Bolder, Braver and Stronger Together and we look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, April 5th.
