Remodel of former Carson City Sizzler building targeted for April completion
The former Sizzler restaurant building, located at 3033 North Carson Street, is transforming into a brand-new optometry office that will be the new home of The See Center in Carson City.
Shaheen Beauchamp Superintendent Joel Brugger said that while interior work on the nearly 5,000 square foot building is progressing, outside landscaping and asphalt work around the building are at a stand-still until the weather improves.
He said he is hoping the remodel will be finished by April and ready to be moved into.
Property owners Janet and Luke Drakulich also own The See Center, which is relocating from its office space in the Eagle Medical Center to the old Sizzler building.
Brugger said the newly remodeled building, originally constructed in 1979, will feature 14 exam rooms, an optical gallery and physician offices. He said the building is being designed for future growth and expansion of the practice.
Sizzler closed the doors to its Carson City restaurant in early 2009 following a sharp downturn in the economy.
