Suspect in custody after allegedly asking restaurant clerk, customers if he could rob them
UPDATE 9:23PM: A suspect was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly walking into Port of Subs on East William Street and asking the clerk and customers if he could rob them. The incident happened at around 7:45 p.m.
According to Carson City Sheriff's Office Sgt. Earl Mays, the man walk walked into the fast food restaurant and said to the clerk and two patrons inside, "Can I rob you?"
The man the left the restaurant and 911 calls were made to dispatch. The man was found near the restaurant and would not follow orders by sheriff's deputies and was tackled and then detained, said Mays. He faces criminal charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing.
There are no robbery charges because the man didn't steal anything from the restaurant or the patrons. He just acted in an intimidating, disorderly manner toward the restaurant clerk and customers, said Mays.

Two customers at the Port of Subs on East William Street were reportedly informed they were going to be robbed in an intimidating manner, according to a witness. The Carson City Sheriff's Office arrived within minutes and detained one person in the area.
The call to dispatch was reported at around 7:45 p.m. from Port of Subs at 1621 William Street. A witness stated the suspect was wearing a gray shirt and walking westbound. One person has been detained. The man reportedly walked into the fast food restaurant and said to customers that he robbing it, though there were no weapons seen, according to dispatch.
