CHS senior's 'Party House' project held Saturday for parents, teens
A staged party house was held Saturday at a Walker Drive residence in East Carson City, a senior project for Carson High School senior Diana Alonso, who has sought to bring attention to the dangers of real teen-aged party houses.
The three-hour event was open to the public for self-guided tours of staged scenarios that would likely occur in an actual party house.
Alonso's project targeted both teens and their parents in hopes that the realities of today's party houses were brought to light.
Actors were staged throughout the house dramatizing different scenarios such as drug use, overdose and sexual assault.
“It’s to show parents what’s really happening with kids in our generation,” Alonso said. “I hope it educates them to guide their child in the right direction to make better choices.”
