Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol division is investigating a vehicle fire Thursday night in the area of I-580 and
Bowers Mansion. Northbound traffic is being diverted to alternative route US-395 at Bowers Mansion.
Occupants of the vehicle — a Jeep that caught fire underneath the Bowers bridge — are safe, said Trooper Charles Caster. Truckee Meadows Fire District responded and put out the fire. The fire was reported just before 7 p.m.
Motorists should use caution driving through the area. The cause is under investigation.
