Carson City emergency crews respond to medical issue involving bicycle rider on Highway 50 East
Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Tuesday afternoon to Highway 50 East in the area of Flint Road for a bicycle rider who suffered a medical issue.
The call came into dispatch at 12:21 p.m. regarding an adult male who was riding a bicycle when he apparently suffered a medical issue while traveling in the eastbound lane.
Multiple 911 calls were made to Carson City dispatch. First responders on scene said the incident wasn't a vehicle crash but that the rider had suffered a medical issue.
The patient was taken by ambulance to the hospital. The eastbound lane was closed briefly for traffic control to allow for emergency personnel.
