NHP reports at least one dead in Carson City freeway crash
UPDATE 10:17AM: The Reno Gazette-Journal reports a 78-year-old driver died in a single-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 580 near College Parkway in Carson City. NHP tells the RGJ the driver was likely driving north in the southbound lanes when they struck a concrete bridge abutment.

Carson City Sheriff's Office and the Nevada Highway Patrol have shut down southbound access and traffic on the Carson City freeway Saturday morning after an accident, with at least one fatality, in the southbound lane near College Parkway.
The accident was reported at 8:30 a.m. and freeway access was shut down, according to scanner traffic, until the incident could be cleared of the vehicles and debris.
Traffic was being diverted elsewhere. It is unknown at this time how many vehicles are involved in the accident. The NHP has listed the accident as having fatal injuries associated with it.
