Jet Blue to provide service from Reno-Tahoe to New York City beginning May 28
Jet Blue Airways announced Tuesday that it would offer nonstop service between Reno-Tahoe International Airport and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport beginning May 28, 2015. Reno-Tahoe will be the airline's 89th destination and is among a number of new JetBlue routes in the West.
"A nonstop link between Reno-Tahoe International Airport and New York City is long overdue," said said James Hnat, JetBlue's General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Legal & Government Affairs. He noted the expansion gives East Coast fliers easy access to Reno and Lake Tahoe, and access to destinations in the region like Truckee, the Sierra Nevada, and Yosemite National Park.
"Landing nonstop daily service on an incredible airline like JetBlue is an example of what this region can do when it works together for a common goal," Marily Mora, President/CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, said. "We are bringing the Biggest Little City and the Big Apple together. We are bringing JetBlue to the blue waters of Lake Tahoe. It's a great day for the Reno-Tahoe region."
