Nevada Song Composers Series presents Mig O'Hara
From the Atlantic City Boardwalk, to the resort islands of the Caribbean, the showrooms of Miami Beach, Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, and Reno, Mig O'Hara is a life long stage veteran.
She has worked in almost every aspect of the business, as a singer, dancer, actress, acrobat, aerialist, musician, director, choreographer, and songwriter. As someone who has traveled extensively, she is a curious observer of life, and is inspired to write songs that are informed by her experience.
Her musical influences include a wide variety of performers from Big Mama Thornton and Sophie Tucker, to Ella and Billie, John Prine, Carole King, and Jason Mraz.
“My music is eclectic, but there is a definite underlying continuity with my harmonic vocabulary and writing style. More than anything, I am a storyteller.“ she explains.
Mig O’Hara performs at the Brewery Arts Center on Friday, Jan. 30, 2015 at 7 p.m., as part of the Nevada Composers Series.
