Carson City's Adams Hub for Innovation to host Polish startups for second year
For the second year in a row, Adams Hub for Innovation in Carson City is collaborating with Entrepreneurs Assembly, The Governor’s Office of Economic Development and the Warsaw School of Economics to bring 10 very exciting Polish tech startups to explore potential collaborations and the Nevada business climate for their respective wares. This is part of a program funded by the EU, the Polish Government, and the Warsaw School of Economics.
On Wednesday Jan. 22, 2020, 1 p.m. Adams Hub will be hosting the startups at The Union 302 N. Carson St. in Carson City (Mark Estee's latest culinary venture!) They will serve lunch to the Polish startup founders, EA mentors, GOED representatives, and guests. Everyone will introduce themselves and then the Polish founders will each do a 5-minute pitch with Q&A from the mentors and guests. The day will culminate with networking.
Adams Hub will be hosting the Polish startups in the morning, and prep them with "How To Build & Deliver a Winning Pitch" at about 10am. This is to prepare the founders for the afternoon session and hard-hitting questions from the Adams Hub and EA mentors who will be challenging the business models, markets, revenues and international strategies
This collaboration began in November 2018 with the 1st cohort of six startups from the Lublin area of Poland. This group is primarily from the Gdansk region. The collaboration is currently funded through 2021, bringing Polish startups to the US, US startups to Poland, plus education and research in conjunction with the University of Nevada, Reno.
According to Entrepreneur-in-Residence for the Adams Hub, Matt Westfield “This is a great benefit for the Carson City business community, bringing international companies here to explore opportunities, make investments, and collaborate to bring more diverse technologies and high-paying jobs to Carson City. Adams Hub, EA and GOED have long supported each other with resources, small business programs, education, funding strategies, and technologies. Now, to have this ongoing international initiative brings these fantastic resources together for local success in a truly global economy!”
