Obituary: Helen Elaine Templeton
September 20, 1948 – January 2, 2017
Helen Elaine Templeton, 68, After a long battle with cancer, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 2, 2017. She leaves behind her husband, John Templeton of Carson City, Nevada, brother Randy Cox, her children and bonus-children Carla (Tom), Heidi (Mike), Landon (Rachael), Mitty (John), Bonnie (Herb), and Glenn (Kim). Helen’s life was also filled with love from her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Helen was born in Sacramento, CA to Bob and Lucille Cox, she graduated from Foothill High school in 1966. Besides being a wonderful wife, mother, Grammy, sister, and friend she also loved her church family, and “making stuff”. If there was a craft to be done she had either already done it or planned to do it. She enjoyed writing short stories and often shared them with close friends and family.
We often teased that she missed her calling. After suffering a heart attack and being diagnosed with Diabetes she quit working full time and worked part time jobs until she started working with special needs adults. Helen was spectacular and quickly made a bond with each of them. She knew exactly what to do to make them feel at ease. Just as she did with most people she came in contact with.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Calvary Chapel Dayton Valley, 28 Enterprise Way, Dayton NV.
A Spaghetti feed fundraiser will take place shortly after the service. All donations will go towards her medical bills and final expenses.
