Carson City Sheriff's Office Looking for Attempted Child Abduction Suspect

An attempted child abduction in Carson City has deputies on high alert Monday and asks the public to keep a look out for the suspect.

According to deputies a Carson High School student was walking home from school Monday when she noticed a car following close behind.

The vehicle followed the girl for several blocks before the suspect rolled down the driver side window and shouted “Get in, I’m giving you a ride." The girl ran from the suspect screaming. The car continued to follow the victim a short distance before leaving the area.

The incident happened on East Robinson Street. The suspect was driving an older model two-door yellow car with faded paint on the hood, two square-shaped headlights and a fabric top. On December 5th 2011, at approximately 1452 hours, Deputies responded to the area of Telegraph St and Robinson Rd in Carson City in reference to a possible attempted child abduction report. A female Carson High School student was walking home from Carson High and was followed by an older model Yellow two door sedan vehicle driven by an unknown older male. The vehicle followed the victim for several blocks. The female victim heard the vehicle roll down the front passenger window. The victim heard the driver say in a loud voice "Get in, I'm giving you a ride". The female victim ran from screaming. The vehicle followed the victim a short distance and left the area.

The vehicle was described as an older two door yellow sedan with faded paint on the hood area and a possible fabric top. It had two front square head lights with the driver's side headlight either tinted or faded and black newer leather interior. The driver was described to be wearing a dark brown colored sweatshirt with writing on the right sleeve area.
