Dream Flights Founder, Dayton local receives Ford Oval of Honor Award for honoring seniors and veterans

Darryl Fisher, a Dayton, Nev. resident and founder of Carson City, Nev.-based nonprofit Dream Flights, was awarded the Ford Oval of Honor Thursday night, July 29, 2022, at Wright Patterson Air Force Base Museum, Vandalia, Ohio.

He was among four recipients, including ret. U.S. Air Force Colonel Colleen Ryan, ret. U.S. Air Force Colonel Cassie Barlow, and ret. U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General Richard V. Reynolds.

Carson City nonprofit for homeless prevention added as Greater Nevada charity beneficiary

In 2021, Greater Nevada Mortgage, through its Keys to Greater program and with the help of more than 2,000 mortgage clients, contributed a total of $119,300 to help young adults in northern Nevada find a place of hope.

This year, Keys to Greater returns, with a portion of the revenue of every new mortgage or refinanced mortgage funded through GNM to be donated to the Eddy House and the Northern Nevada Dream Center in Carson City.

In return these companies are required to create 1,013 jobs in the next two years at an average weighted hourly wage of $28. That figure is expected to grow to 1,722 in five years.
