17th Annual Boys and Girls Club Kids Auction and World's Greatest Barbecue

It's auction and barbecue time again, this time around it's become a Carson City tradition. The 17th annual Kids Auction and World's Greatest Barbecue
benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11, from 4-9 p.m.
Join more than 800 members of the community as they partake in excellent food and drinks, bid on silent and live auction items, and end the evening with a performance from local favorite Comstock Cowboys.

Join the Pooch Plunge for Carson City dog park expansion

Parks 4 Paws, a nonprofit community group to develop designated dogs parks in Carson City, in conjunction with Carson City Parks and Recreation Department and the community pool will sponsor the second annual Pooch Plunge on Saturday, Sept. 18. Last year’s event was very entertaining to watch. It was debatable who had more fun – the dogs or their owners.
The event will held at the Carson Aquatic Facility Outdoor Pool, 841 N Roop St Carson City.

Carson City Democratic Women's Club to host Meet the Candidates barbecue

The Carson City Democratic Women's Club will host a Meet the Candidates barbecue fundraising event on Saturday Sept. 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Carson City home of Ada Rolke, 1001 Arrowhead Drive. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under and may be purchased in advance or at the event. Food will be served until 3:30 p.m.

Carson City Elks Lodge to hold benefit dinner for cancer patient

September 24, 2010 (All day)

Carson City Elks Lodge #2177 will host a benefit dinner for Herbert "Randy" Ostrander, who is undergoing serious chemo treatments for lung cancer. Call (775) 882-2177 for the time. Randy has been the lounge manager for many years and was instrumental in getting the game room added which has been his pride. He has had to resign his position as Tiler.
