An AMVETS Seminar will be held at the Carson Plaza at 2 p.m. on Sept. 15. The purpose of the seminar is to inform veterans and their spouses about little known benefits they may be eligible for from the Veterans Administration. Parks 4 Paws, a nonprofit community group to develop designated dogs parks in Carson City, in conjunction with Carson City Parks and Recreation Department and the community pool will sponsor the second annual Pooch Plunge on Saturday, Sept. 18. Last year’s event was very entertaining to watch. It was debatable who had more fun – the dogs or their owners.
The event will held at the Carson Aquatic Facility Outdoor Pool, 841 N Roop St Carson City.

Early fall in the Carson City wouldn’t be complete without St. Teresa of Avila’s famous Basque Festival. To honor the rich traditions of Northern Nevada’s Basque heritage, this daylong event is held the third Sunday of September, and has grown into a community-wide celebration. Several thousand people attend the Basque Festival each year, enjoying the authenticity of fantastic food, events, and entertainment. Quite simply there isn’t a better way to spend an autumn Sunday!
